It Was Bad Enough The First Time Around

He'd woken crying again. Some mornings it was from strange dreams that he woke from in a cold sweat, not remembering any of it but with tears streaming down his face regardless. Others were like this morning, waking with multiple muscle groups in his body cramped in screaming agony. He writhed in pain until he could either relax the muscles or they were done with whatever the hell they were doing.

It was like puberty all over again, but worse.

And like during puberty, he woke up horny as hell. Crying and horny...what the fuck was wrong with him?! He'd been relieved when the migraines eased enough for him to be upright (wearing sunglasses was helping a lot), but the relief quickly evaporated when he found the worst of the symptoms were simply replaced with a constantly shifting blend of voracious hunger, almost insatiable horniness, and muscles cramps that came on suddenly and could drop him to the floor in an instant.

He pulled on a shirt and pants, making a face at how scratchy and tight they felt. He still found himself throwing up, but the amount of food he'd been eating was worrisome for sure. And now his clothes were tight. Just fucking great.

He could feel his stomach and muscles arguing over who would get attention first, so he hurried for the stairs. He'd get some food and then try the hot tub to see if that would help.

Jason wasn't happy to be up. His head hurt, again.
Seriously, if he'd known it was going to feel like detoxing all over again, he'd have told them all just where they could shove those pills.

He rubbed at his eyes, grumbling to himself in self-pity as he shuffled almost blindly down to the common areas. He was nearing the kitchen when his nose wrinkled: someone was cooking something very...strong.

Yeah, no. He'd keep going until he found something in his path he could flop on.

Flop and...jitter.

"Would all test subjects please report to sublevel one, main room!" The announcement rang through the house just after breakfast.

The screen in the said main room was live, showing a young lady in a lab coat, "thank you so much for agreeing to this study! Each of you has been personally chosen to see how various backgrounds effect the efficiency of our new medication! Starting today you will be engaging in a daily dosing and several cognitive and physical tests that should last no longer than four hours of each day! Additionally you will find a blank journal in the bedside drawer in every room, please record, nightly, any effects you may feel, either positive or negative!"

A small beep, then a slot under the screen was opening, a tray emerging with six pills upon it, "please take one each and swallow them, this will be the pattern for the next two months! Once you have taken your dailty dose please report to the side rooms with your names upon them for cognitive testing, Instructions for physical testing will follow once cognitive is complete!"
